We are over here in Luxmi Garden, occupying units 78 and 79. It is just a standard office space in Yamunanagar where we spend most of our daylight hours. To be honest, it is not much to look at from the outside, just a brick building with some glass windows and a sign. Inside, we have our desks lined up and stacks of folders that seem to never get smaller. People from the neighborhood come in quite often just to check on their accounts or to ask how the Nidhi system works. We spend a lot of time explaining things over a cup of tea. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty because of the roadwork nearby, but we try to keep it tidy. There are four of us working here most days. We know each other's habits pretty well by now, like who takes the longest lunch and who makes the best tea. It is a very local vibe. We don't have any of those fancy computer systems that do everything for you, so there is still a lot of writing things down in big ledgers. It feels more real that way, I think. We are just a group of local people trying to help other families in the area manage their small savings. Nothing too fancy or complicated about it. We stay open until the last person leaves, which is usually around six in the evening.
