You can find us at 10, Industrial Estate-1. It’s a pretty standard spot for a business like ours. We have been making drive shafts at Modern Drive Shafts for quite a while now. The workshop is always a bit greasy, and there is usually the sound of metal being worked on in the background. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters for us. It’s just a group of people who know how to build and fix parts. Most of us wear overalls that have seen better days. The industrial estate is a busy place, and we know most of our neighbors. Sometimes we borrow tools from each other or help out when someone’s truck gets stuck. Our office is just a small room at the front with a couple of old desks and a filing cabinet that sticks if you pull it too hard. We don't do anything flashy. We just take the orders, do the machining, and get the shafts ready for the customers. It’s a long day usually, starting early and ending when the light fades. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a clock that’s five minutes fast. It works for us. We just focus on the metalwork and making sure the dimensions are right before anything leaves the shop. It is practical work and we have been doing it this way forever.
