The office for the Joint Director of Agriculture is located right in the APMC Staff Quarter. It's a government space, so don't expect anything too modern or flashy. We have our desks, our files, and a lot of paperwork to get through every week. People call us JDA for short. Being based in the staff quarters means we are close to the heart of the market activities, which is where we need to be. The building is a bit old and the paint might be peeling in spots, but it functions well enough for what we need to do. We spend a lot of time meeting with farmers and people from the trade who have questions or need documents cleared. It’s not an exciting job, but it is necessary work for the area. We have a small group of staff here who have been around for years. We know the rules and we try to follow them as best as we can. It gets busy during the harvest seasons and things can get a little chaotic with everyone coming in at once. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. We just have this office and the work on our desks. If you need to find us, just head to the APMC quarters and ask around. Someone will point you the way eventually. We are here from Monday to Saturday, usually busy with something or the other.
