Our workshop is located in Mukthapur, which is right in the heart of the Bhudan Pochampalli area. If you come to H No 2-2, you will find us there. It’s a quiet village setting, very different from the city. Vanaja Pochampalli is all about the local weaving that this place is famous for. We have several looms set up, and you can hear the rhythm of the wooden parts clicking together all day long. It is a sound I’ve grown up with. Most of the people working here are from the village itself. We don't have big signs or a retail shop with air conditioning. It is just a workspace where the magic happens on the threads. We use a lot of dyes, so sometimes the yard outside has colorful patches on the ground. We work when the sun is up and rest when it goes down. The patterns we weave take a lot of concentration, so it can get pretty quiet when everyone is focused. We are a producer company, so the weavers actually have a say in how things are run. It’s not always easy, especially when the price of silk goes up, but we manage to stay afloat. We aren't interested in being some high-end luxury brand. We just want to make good cloth that people can actually use. That is enough for us.
