Down here in Thungathurthy, you can find us at H No.4-89/2A. We are right near the Canara Bank on the main road, so it’s pretty easy to find if you are driving through the village. This is where the Thungathurthy Women Farmers Producer Company Limited does its daily business. It is not a shiny office building. It’s a practical space where local women come together to manage what they grow. Most mornings, you’ll see a few of us sitting around discussing the latest crops or figuring out how to get the produce to the right market. The village and mandal life is quiet, but our office stays busy. We deal with a lot of small-scale farmers who are just trying to make a living. There is always someone coming in to ask a question or drop off paperwork. We don’t use any big fancy machines; it is mostly just people power and a lot of talking. The building itself is old but it works for us. We have grown into this space over the years. It feels like a second home to many of the women involved. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to help our own community here in Thungathurthy get by a little easier. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time, making sure the farmers get what they need to keep their farms going.
