Down in Nalgonda, in the Sai Nagar Colony, is where you will find us. Our address is H.No: 5-27/4. Sri Hasthakala Weavers Producer Company Limited is a long name for what is essentially a group of local weavers working together. We aren't a big factory. We are more of a community group. Our office is a simple place where we coordinate with different weavers in the area. We spend a lot of time checking on looms and looking at the quality of the thread. Nalgonda is home for us, and we like being based here instead of some big city like Hyderabad. The work is mostly about patience. Sometimes a batch of yarn doesn't dye correctly and we have to start the whole thing over. It’s a lot of manual labor and it can be quite tiring. We don't have any marketing people or a fancy website. We just focus on the fabric and the people making it. Most of us have been around weaving since we were kids, so it’s just what we know. The colony is usually quiet, which is nice when you are trying to count threads or organize an order. We just want to keep the tradition going and make sure everyone gets a fair price for their work. It’s not always easy, and some months are slower than others, but we keep at it day by day.
