We are just a group of people from around Pangti and Sungro here in Wokha district. Our name is Yichetao Okho Navkrishak Farmers Producer Company Limited, which is quite a mouthful to say when you’re out in the fields working. Lijon Ngullie helps us manage the paperwork and other things from his place in Pangti. It’s mostly just us local farmers coming together because it makes more sense than trying to handle every little thing alone. The weather here in Nagaland can be very tricky, so having a small group helps when we need to figure out where to sell what we grow. We spend most of our days dealing with the soil and just hoping for a good season. It isn't a fancy office setup or anything like that. If you come by the post office area in Sungro, you might see us working or just talking about the crops. We don't have big machines or anything corporate. It’s just about getting the produce out and keeping the families going. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized, but we usually figure it out eventually. Living out here in Wokha, you learn to just take things one day at a time. We don't have a big marketing plan. It’s just about the farming and making sure everyone has enough to do. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we are outside. That's pretty much how we run things in this corner of Nagaland. We just keep our hands in the dirt and look forward to what the next season brings.
