Wokha Organic Ginger Producer Company Limited

Our place is at House Number 10 in Sanis Town. It’s a small town and we are right in the middle of it. Ginger is what we grow here. The soil in Wokha is really good for the roots, so they come out strong. Keeping things organic is important to us, mostly because that’s how we’ve always done it. This means spending a lot of time pulling weeds by hand. It’s a lot of bending over in the hot sun. A group of local farmers brings their harvests to us. Inside the house, we sort the ginger and pack it into heavy bags. Dirt and dust are just part of the job. There isn't a fancy factory or a big office here. We just have the house and the tools we need. When the harvest is huge, we stay busy for weeks. Other times, the pace is a lot slower. Marketing talk isn't really our thing. We just grow the crop. It’s a simple life in Sanis. Neighbors stop by often. We have been doing this for a long time and we like the work. It’s just about making the most of what the land gives us. Everything we do is honest and straightforward. We take pride in the ginger we produce. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know best.
