Likya Okho Navkrishak Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at Ralanthung Odyuo’s place. You can find us in Lio Longidang, which is near the Doyang H Project in Wokha. Being near the water project changes how we think about our land. A bunch of us farmers got together because managing everything alone was getting too hard. We don't have a big fancy building or anything like that. Mostly, it’s just us working in the fields or sitting around the house planning the next harvest. The weather in Nagaland can be very unpredictable. Some years the sun is too hot and other times the rain is constant. We grow what the soil likes best. Spending time on big ads or polished speeches isn't for us. We just focus on the plants and the dirt. Sometimes the transport to the market is slow, so timing is very important. We help each other out with the heavy lifting and getting the seeds ready. It’s a group effort, plain and simple. We started this because we wanted a better way to handle the business side of our farming. It’s not always easy and there are plenty of long days involved. We just keep moving forward one day at a time. The hills are quiet and we like it that way. It’s just honest work from people who know the land. We stay busy year-round.
