Our place is on the ground floor at 78, H G B Road in Agartala. We are right across from the Agiya Chalo Sangha Club in Melarmath. It’s a decent-sized space where we keep all our fabrics, lights, and frames for decorating. Decorating isn’t always about making things look perfect; it’s about making them work for the space we have. We spend most of our time out at venues, putting up curtains or arranging flowers. Back at the shop, it’s usually a bit of a mess with scraps of cloth and tools lying around. My team and I have been doing this for years in Agartala. We know which halls have bad lighting and which gardens need extra help. People come to Melarmath to talk to us about their plans. We don’t have a brochure or anything like that. We just show them photos on our phones of what we did last week. It’s honest work and it’s tiring. Carrying heavy wooden structures in the heat is part of the job. Sometimes the customer changes their mind at the last minute and we have to start over. That’s just how it goes. We like being on H G B Road because it’s easy for people to find us. If the club across the street has an event, we usually know about it. We’re just local people trying to make a living by making things look a bit better for a day. We keep it simple and just do the work.
