Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Ltd

We're tucked away in Sabang, specifically in Medinipur West. This part of Bengal is quiet compared to the big cities. Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Ltd has been here for some time now. We operate out of a spot near the main village area, and Prasenjit Gqanguly handles a lot of the local coordination for us. People here know us, even if the name sounds big. It’s mostly just a local operation for us. We handle what comes our way. The roads around here can be a bit of a challenge during the monsoon season, but we manage to get things moving. There’s a lot of greenery around the office which is nice. We usually start the day with a bit of a meeting to see who is doing what. It’s not corporate at all. We just talk like regular people because that’s who we are. The guys stay busy with the paperwork and making sure the sites are okay. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours and we just have to wait it out or find another way to work. It's just how things are in Sabang. We don't have those big glass buildings you see in Kolkata. It’s just a practical setup with some chairs and a few old computers. We try to be helpful when we can. Mostly we're just focused on the projects we've been handed. It's hard work, but we like it here. It’s home for us now.
