Iit Kharagpur

Our spot is in Room 302 over at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in IIT Kharagpur. If you know the campus, you know it's a bit of a walk to get out here, but it’s quiet. We spend most of our days surrounded by metal samples and various testing equipment. It’s an old building, so the walls have that specific institutional smell, and the fans make a bit of a clicking noise when they're on high. We aren't trying to be a big business or anything corporate. It’s just a research-heavy space where we get our work done. The desks are usually covered in notebooks and half-finished projects. Sometimes it gets pretty hot in West Bengal, and we just have to deal with it while we run our tests. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website. Most people who find us are either students or other researchers who need something specific. It’s a very hands-on environment. We don't wear suits; it’s mostly just lab coats or old t-shirts. Everything here is about the materials we study. We have been in this room for quite a while now and have things set up exactly how we like them. It might look messy to an outsider, but we know where everything is. It’s just an honest place for people who like science and engineering. There is always someone around if you have questions about the projects.
