Sri Narsamamba Lace Industries

Out here in Seetharampuram, specifically in the Narsapur Mandal of the West Godavari District, we run Sri Narsamamba Lace Industries. This area is famous for lace, and we’ve been part of that tradition for a long time. Our setup isn’t some high-tech factory. It’s mostly a lot of people working with their hands, using skills that have been around for generations. You can hear the chatter of the workers and the rhythmic sound of the tools when you walk in. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the threads and making sure the patterns are coming out right. It’s a slow process sometimes, but you can’t rush this kind of thing. The weather can be a bit much, especially in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and keep working. We sell to different places, but everything starts right here in our small workshop. The village life suits the business. We don't have a big corporate office in a city; we prefer being right where the work happens. My family has been involved in this for as long as I can remember. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make lace, manage the orders, and try to make sure everyone involved gets a fair shake. It’s a busy life, but it’s a good one, rooted right here in the district among people we know.
