Lakshman Pepper Mill

If you go down Janakipuram Road in Narasapuram, you will find Lakshman Pepper Mill at 2-4-157. It’s hard to miss because of the sound of the machines running. We grind pepper all day long, and the smell is very strong. It stays in your clothes even after you go home for the night. The building is one of those older ones on Janakipuram Road that has seen a lot of years. It’s got high ceilings which is good because it gets very hot in Narasapuram during the summer. We have a few guys who work the mill and a couple more who handle the bagging and sealing. It’s a dusty job, and we all wear scarves over our faces to keep the pepper out of our noses while we work. The road outside is always busy with cycles and carts moving around. We don't have a fancy waiting area or a front desk with a receptionist. If someone comes by, they just walk into the main area and find one of us. We spend a lot of time checking the weight of the bags on the old scale. It’s been here since the start and it still works perfectly fine. Sometimes the bags rip and we have to start over, which is a bit of a pain. We just do our work and try to get everything shipped out on time. It’s a basic operation, but it keeps us busy.
