We are situated in Tadepalligudem in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Our office is easy to find because it’s right opposite the Singam Pattabi house on Fire Station Road. The weather here is almost always hot, and the landscape is very flat with lots of fields around. We work out of a space shared with Bijay Bhaskar. It’s a simple setup with fans humming and the sound of the main road just outside. We spend a lot of time coordinating with the site engineers and checking on the equipment. The local language is mostly Telugu, and we’ve all picked up enough to get by with the workers. It isn't a high-tech office. We rely on a lot of paper notebooks and printed schedules. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so we are always cleaning our desks. We have a decent routine going. There’s a tea stall nearby where we get our morning break. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don't go in for big speeches or polished presentations. We just want to make sure the construction projects in this region are handled properly and on time. It’s a long way from the headquarters, but we feel like we are where the real work happens. Every day brings a new challenge with the materials or the labor.
