Graduate Engineer

I’m N Rajesh and I’m the son of Kanaka Durgarao. We run the Graduate Engineer work out of Ravulaparru in the Unguturu Mandal. It’s a quiet place in the Westgodavari district. Being a graduate engineer in a spot like this means a lot of travel to different sites sometimes. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place to keep the tools and the papers in one place. We've been in this village for a long time now. Everyone around here knows my father. I started this whole thing after I finished my studies and came back home. It’s honest work. I handle the engineering side of things for whatever local needs come up. It’s not like those big city firms with the glass walls. I take care of the details myself. The road to Ravulaparru is okay, but sometimes during the rains, it gets a bit muddy and slow. That’s just part of life in the district. I work out of the house mostly. It keeps things simple and the costs down. I don't have a secretary or a big sign hanging outside. Just the work I do is what matters. I spend a lot of time on the ground or sitting at my desk figuring out technical problems. It’s what I know how to do. Living and working here in Westgodavari keeps me pretty busy. There is always something that needs fixing or planning. I just try to do a good job for people here.
