If you are looking for us in Bhimavaram, we are right near the Pavan Honda Showroom. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the bikes are. The hospital is just a plain building on that road. We spend a lot of our time in the back where the treatment rooms are. The floor is mostly white marble and it stays cool even when it’s baking outside. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. Usually, there is some local news playing on a small TV in the corner, but the volume is kept low. You can hear the motorcycles revving next door at the showroom throughout the day. We have a shelf full of patient files that are alphabetized, or at least we try to keep them that way. The water filter is near the entrance and it’s probably the most used thing in the office during the summer. We keep our tools in glass cabinets that we wipe down every single morning. It’s a basic place, nothing too fancy or modern. We just know our way around the clinic and the people who live in this part of Bhimavaram. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living here. We just stay busy and keep things moving as best as we can. It gets quiet in the evenings when the shops close.
