East Coast Construction Limited

Our setup is a bit different because we are located in Tura, up in the West Garo Hills of Meghalaya. You can find us near the D.I. Office. East Coast Construction Limited has been working in this region for a while now. Building up here in the hills comes with its own set of problems, mostly because of the terrain and the winding roads. It’s beautiful though, and we like being part of the community here. Monomita Sarker looks after things at this branch. Our office is a practical space where we coordinate our local projects. It’s not like an office you’d find in a big city. It’s a bit more relaxed, but the work is still tough. We have to deal with heavy rains and landslides sometimes, which can really mess up a schedule. We just do our best to keep things moving. Most of our workers are locals who know the land well. We don't have a big corporate manual. We just figure things out as we go and try to do right by the people we’re building for. Tura is a different kind of place to work. You have to be patient with the weather. Our office near the D.I. Office is where we gather to figure out how to get materials up the hills. It’s a lot of logistical work that people don't always see. If someone wants to see our work, we just take them to a site. It’s more honest that way.
