World Nari Shakti Foundation

World Nari Shakti Foundation is over at House Number 19 on the ground floor. We are on Dhansa Road in Gopal Nagar, which is part of Najafgarh. It’s a busy area with a lot of traffic passing by all the time, so it's quite noisy. We set up here because we wanted to be accessible to the women in the neighborhood who might need a hand. We don't have a lot of money or a big organization behind us. It’s just a few of us who grew up around here and wanted to do something useful for our town. Our office is pretty simple—just some old tables and chairs and a few cupboards for files and donations. We spend a lot of time talking to local ladies about their problems, whether it’s about their kids, their jobs, or just needing a bit of support. We aren't social work experts with degrees; we’re just people who listen and try to help where we can. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit in the dark and keep talking. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do. We know almost everyone on Dhansa Road and they know where to find us if things get difficult. We just keep things moving, helping one person after another as best as we know how. We always have some biscuits to offer people who come by, even if we're having a long day ourselves.
