We are based out of house number 4212 over in Vivek Nagar West. It's right in the Hudco Colony area. Vijayapur Silk Industries Private Limited isn't some big shiny corporation with a lobby. It's just a workspace where we deal with silk day in and day out. Some of us have been here since the start and we just know the routine by heart now. The climate here in Vijayapur affects the silk sometimes, so we have to watch that. It’s mostly just us making sure the quality is alright before anything leaves the door. The colony is a decent place to work, pretty steady. We usually start early in the morning when it's still cool outside. There is always a pile of paperwork on the desk that never seems to go away, and the phone rings more than we'd like. We don't have a big team, just enough people to keep the machines running and the orders sorted. It’s a lot of manual checking. You get used to the smell of the fabric and the sound of the equipment after a few hours. We don’t bother with fancy signs or anything. We just stay busy with the silk. If someone needs to find us, they usually just ask around the neighborhood. It’s a practical setup. We just do our thing and go home.
