Our office is in Rajouri Garden, specifically H.No. J - 10/4-C on the ground floor. It is really close to the Tagore Garden Metro Station, so you can hear the trains rumbling every few minutes if you listen closely enough. Being on the ground floor is good because people don't have to climb any stairs to get to us, which is a relief for some. It’s a busy part of New Delhi. There are always people walking to and from the station. We handle chit funds. Inside, it’s pretty basic. A few desks, some steel cupboards for the files, and a few chairs for visitors to sit on. The walls are an off-white color and have some marks on them. We’ve got a small clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly when it’s quiet in the afternoons. People from the nearby blocks come in to pay their dues or just to check on things. It’s a very local operation. We know the shopkeepers nearby and often see them when we step out for a quick lunch or a smoke. There’s a tea stall at the corner that we go to often because they make it just right. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls. It’s just a place where we do the accounting and keep track of the money for the members. It gets the job done and that is what really matters.
