We are over in Uttam Nagar, Phase 1. The address is a bit confusing because it has an old plot number and a new one too, so we just tell people to look for 44/A on the first floor. It’s right in the middle of a very crowded area, which is typical for this part of New Delhi. We deal with nursing students mostly. There is a lot of energy in the rooms because everyone is trying to learn things for their future jobs. The halls are a bit narrow, so we have to move the chairs around to make space. It gets quite loud outside with the street noise, but we just close the windows and get on with it. We have some charts on the walls and a few desks that have seen better days. It isn’t about being fancy here. It’s about the books and the practice. We often have tea together during the breaks. The walk from the metro station is usually how we start our morning. It’s a busy walk through the market. Sometimes we forget to turn off the lights in the back room when we leave. The building is older, but it serves its purpose for what we do. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the nursing syllabus well. It’s a practical place for practical people. Most of our students come from all over the city and they seem to like the informal atmosphere.
