Tribal & Rural Development Foundation

The Tribal & Rural Development Foundation office is over in Kishan Garh, tucked away in 54/9D. It’s right near Vasant Kunj but it feels a bit different once you get into the narrow lanes here. We spend our time thinking about and working on things for people in rural areas who don't always get the same chances as everyone else. It’s a small place, mostly filled with papers and maps of different villages we visit. Often, someone is out on a trip to check on a project, so the office might only have one or two people in it. We deal with a lot of different things, like water issues or helping people find better ways to farm. It’s not always smooth sailing. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it's quiet for hours. We drink a lot of tea while we talk about what needs to be done next. The neighbors are nice and they see us coming and going at odd hours. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. It's just a regular room where we do our work. South Delhi can be busy, but our corner is mostly just focused on the tasks at hand. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to get things moving. We just try to stay busy and helpful. It’s what keeps us going every day here in the office.
