The West Side Clinic

The West Side Clinic is situated at 33/1 on the ground floor in East Patel Nagar. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just walk right in from the street without having to deal with any stairs or elevators. Patel Nagar is always moving and there is a lot of noise from the rickshaws and cars passing by outside our door. We keep a small desk at the front and a few plastic chairs for anyone who needs to sit down for a bit. The lighting inside is a little bright but it helps us see what we are doing when we are writing in the charts. We usually open up the shutters early and sweep the front step before the sun gets too high. There is a clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly when the room is empty. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a minute and we have to wait for the backup to kick in which is just part of living in this area. We have a few old magazines on the table but most people just look at their phones while they wait. The floor is made of grey tiles that stay cool even when the weather outside is very hot. It is a basic setup and we have lived with the same furniture for years. We just focus on getting through the daily list of people who come by.
