This place at C3A 28 in Desu Colony, Janakpuri is where everything happens. It’s a pretty standard spot, nothing too flashy about it. Most of the time, I’m here early in the morning before the neighborhood really wakes up. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that makes it quieter than you’d expect for this part of Delhi. I’ve got my desk set up with a lamp that flickers a bit and a shelf that’s way too full of old papers and books I haven't looked at in years. People from around the colony know where to find me if they need something. It’s not like those offices you see in movies with glass walls and secretaries. It’s just me and occasionally a helper or two sitting in the back. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it never seems to be the right time to stop working and get it done. I’ve been in Janakpuri for a long time now, so I know the rhythms of the street, like when the vegetable sellers come by or when the traffic gets bad. Working from home or a small local office has its quirks, like the neighbor’s dog barking or the mail getting dropped off late. It’s just a normal work life, really. Nothing more, nothing less. I just focus on getting through the tasks for the day and then heading home when it gets dark.
