Sharma Clinic

Our little clinic is over at 14 Rajender Park Extn in Nangloi. If you know the Nangloi area, you know it’s a busy, working-class part of town where everyone is always on the move. Sharma Clinic is tucked into the Rajender Park Extension, away from the very loudest parts of the main road but still easy to get to. The building is a simple one, nothing to look at from the outside really. Inside, we have a waiting area that’s usually got a few people sitting and reading old newspapers or looking at their phones. The walls are a plain off-white and we have a few fans that hum throughout the day. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just a few charts and a clock that’s always five minutes fast. People from around the extension come here because we are close and they know us. We aren't a big hospital with hundreds of beds. We are just a local clinic where you can come when you have a fever or a cough. The staff here has been together for a while, so we work well without needing to say much to each other. It’s a quiet sort of rhythm. We deal with the day as it comes, talking to the neighbors and making sure they are doing okay. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s a good one here in Nangloi. We just keep the doors open and do the work.
