I work out of a space on the 3rd floor at 19845 Subhash Nagar. It’s really close to the Tagore Garden Metro Station, so you can see the trains passing by from the window if you look out. Being on the 3rd floor means there are a lot of steps to climb, but most people don't seem to mind the exercise. The office has a very specific smell of herbs and oils because of the Ayurvedic treatments I handle. I have a lot of jars filled with different powders and dried leaves stacked up in the corner. I spend most of my day sitting across from people, listening to them talk about their aches and pains. I don't use any fancy equipment, just what I’ve learned about traditional medicine over the years. The floor is tiled and easy to keep clean, which is important. Sometimes the noise from the metro station gets a bit loud, but it’s just part of the background here in Subhash Nagar. I don't have a big staff, it’s mostly just me managing the patients and the medicines. I like the light that comes in through the window in the afternoon. People find me through word of mouth mostly, or because they saw the sign while walking from the station. It’s a quiet, practical place where I can focus on my work without too many distractions. I keep the door open when it’s not too hot outside to let some fresh air in.
