S Tandon & Associates, Chartered Accountant

Our office is over in West Patel Nagar, right in the Shadipur Khampur Chaupal area. We are on the first floor of WZ/6. It is one of those typical buildings in this part of New Delhi where things are a bit cramped but everyone knows each other. Being a chartered accountant office means there is always a stack of papers or a ledger sitting on a desk somewhere. We spend our mornings going through old receipts and trying to file returns on time. It is quiet work for the most part, though the street noise from below definitely filters in throughout the day. Flat 5 is where we have everything set up. It is not some huge corporate headquarters, just a few rooms where we get our daily tasks done. We have been in this part of the city for a while, so we are used to the local rhythm. People from the neighborhood stop by when they have a confusing question about their GST or income tax. We don't have a reception area with a fancy couch. You just walk up the stairs and you will find us at our desks. We keep things very basic here. There is no need for big speeches or marketing talk. We just look at the numbers and try to make sense of them for anyone who needs help. Some days are much busier than others, especially when the tax season really kicks in. We drink a lot of chai and just keep typing away.
