We are over at Bali Nagar F 98, right where the traffic starts to pile up in the evenings. The shop is full of metal parts and the smell of grease is pretty much everywhere. I have shelves stacked high with gaskets, spark plugs, and all sorts of bits for cars and bikes. Most of the time, I can tell you exactly where a part is, even if the shop looks like a disaster to anyone else. Bali Nagar is a good spot, but it gets dusty with all the vehicles passing by every minute. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass cases just so people can see what’s inside. My clothes usually end up with oil stains by midday, but that’s just part of the job when you’re handling engine components all day. There is a small bench out front where I sit when there aren’t any customers. Sometimes people come in with a part that’s so rusted they don’t even know what it was originally. We just do our best to find a match. It’s a lot of looking through old catalogs and checking the stock in the back room. The lighting in the back is a bit dim, so I have to use a flashlight more often than I’d like. It’s a steady kind of work, nothing too exciting, just helping folks keep their machines running. We’ve been at this F 98 address for quite a few years now.
