We have been over here on Street No. 7 in Virender Nagar for a long time now. It is a busy spot near Jail Road in New Delhi, and there is always a lot of noise from the traffic. Our office at Wz 101/A is not much to look at, just a plain room where we keep our files and meet with people. We handle all sorts of construction jobs around the city. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desks and it feels like we are always chasing one deadline or another. My cousin helps out with the accounts most days. The door sticks a bit when it is rainy, so you have to give it a good shove to get in. We have a small kettle for making tea when contractors stop by to chat about their projects. It is a lot of phone calls and checking on workers at different sites. The heat in the summer makes the site visits pretty tough, but we just get on with it. We are not doing anything groundbreaking, just the regular work that goes into putting up walls and fixing structures. It is hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. Sometimes we forget to answer the phone right away if we are out back. That is just how it is here. Most folks know us from around the neighborhood. We have seen the area change quite a bit over the years.
