P. K. Lamp Shade

P. K. Lamp Shade is one of the shops you will find at 487/53 in the National Market over in Peera Garhi. This market is usually quite a scene, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. We have been here for a good amount of time, surrounded by all sorts of different lamps and shades. It's a bit of a delicate business because things can break if you aren't careful, so we spend a lot of time wrapping items and moving them slowly. The shop isn't very big, but we try to fit in as many different styles as we can. Peera Garhi is a busy hub and the traffic outside can be a real headache sometimes, but that’s just life in this part of Delhi. We open up and the first thing is usually dusting because the road dust gets everywhere. We don't use any fancy sales talk here. People come in, they look at the shades, and we tell them the price. It's simple. We have some regulars who come back whenever they are fixing up a room. The lighting in the shop is always bright because of all the lamps we have plugged in to show people. It gets a bit warm in the summer with all those bulbs, but we have a fan that helps. If you are walking through National Market, you'll see us at 487/53 among all the other stalls. We spend our days right here in the middle of it all.
