About Open Book Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in West Delhi
Open Book Foundation is run out of A2/57 in Pascham Vihar. It’s a decent neighborhood and we’ve set up our space to be as useful as possible for the work we do. We basically deal with books and literacy in whatever way we can. Sometimes that means sorting through piles of donated novels or textbooks, and other times it means helping someone figure out how to get their kids into a reading habit. Our place is usually a bit of a mess with boxes and papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. We aren't a big library or a fancy bookstore. We are just a few people who think that having books around is important for everyone, no matter where they live. We don't have a lot of rules or a corporate handbook. We just try to get books into the hands of people who will actually read them. It can be a bit slow some weeks, and we often wish we had more space for all the stuff we want to do. Pascham Vihar is a good spot for us because it’s easy for people to reach. We aren't doing this to get famous or make a lot of money. It’s just something we started because we saw a need for it. If you ever walk by and see us hauling boxes of books, that’s just a normal Tuesday for us. We're just trying to keep the pages turning.
