Ohana Welfare Foundation

Ohana Welfare Foundation is over in Uttam Nagar, at H.N. 281 A in the L Extension of Mohan Garden. It’s a pretty standard house in a busy neighborhood. We chose the name because it felt right for the kind of work we wanted to do. We’ve been here for a while, just trying to be a resource for the people living around us. Uttam Nagar is a big, sprawling place, and it’s easy for people to feel lost. We try to be a point of contact for anyone who needs a bit of guidance or support. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a big budget. It’s mostly just us sitting around a table figuring things out. Some days we're dealing with local water issues, and other days we're helping a student with some forms. It's varied work and that’s what we like about it. We don't have a formal mission statement written on the wall. We just know what needs doing when we see it. It’s a bit messy sometimes, and we might not have all the answers right away, but we’ll always try to find them. It’s just about being there for the community and doing what we can with what we have. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just like to help out when we can and keep the foundation running as a helpful spot for all our local neighbors. People know where to find us in Mohan Garden if they need a hand.
