Nsw Industries

Our place, Nsw Industries, is over at B-41 in the Naresh Pak Extension Industrial Area in Nangloi. It’s a loud part of town because of all the factories and the heavy trucks moving in and out all day long. We make things here, mostly using the machines that take up most of our floor space. It’s usually hot inside, especially during the summer months when the fans just push the warm air around. We’ve got a crew that knows the equipment pretty well. Most of us have been working in this area for a long time. The floors are concrete and usually have a bit of oil or metal shavings on them, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of industrial work. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist; you usually just walk in and find someone wearing a jumpsuit to talk to. Nangloi is a tough place but it’s where things get built. We focus on getting the orders out on time so the trucks can take them where they need to go. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to huddle around to fix it, which takes a few hours of sweating and complaining. It’s not a glamorous life but it’s what we do. We just keep the production lines moving at B-41.
