If you know Kirti Nagar, you know how packed it gets with all the furniture shops and timber markets. Lloyd Insulations (India) Ltd. is tucked away at K-123, right in the middle of all that activity. Delhi winters are freezing and the summers are like a furnace, so insulation is something people around here actually need quite a lot. We spend our days answering phones and checking on shipments that come through the main hub. It’s a functional space, mostly desks and some samples of glass wool or foam scattered around. We aren't trying to be some high-rise corporate office. It’s more of a place where we drink a lot of tea and try to keep up with the orders. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out like everyone else on the block. We’ve been at this address for a bit, and most of the regulars know where to find us. Dealing with the dust and the noise of the industrial area is just part of the job. We talk to contractors and builders who are looking for practical ways to wrap their pipes or line their walls. It isn't glamorous, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We just focus on getting the right quantities out to the sites on time. It's a straightforward operation and we like it that way. We don't have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people knowing we are here.
