Laxman Das Social Welfare Foundation

You can find us at Khasra No-325 in G-Block, right along Ram Colony Road in Chhattarpur. It is a lively part of South West Delhi, and there is always something happening right outside our door. Laxman Das Social Welfare Foundation isn’t some big, polished organization with a marketing team. We are just a small group of people who set up shop here to handle local matters. The building is a bit older, and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it stays cool in the summer, which is what matters most to us. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of filing cabinets and a couple of old computers that take a while to start up in the morning. We don’t really go for that corporate look. We prefer having a space where the neighbors feel okay just dropping in for a chat or to ask for help with some paperwork. The road outside can get pretty dusty when the traffic picks up, so we spend a fair bit of time dusting off the desks. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall; we just look at what needs doing each morning and try to get it finished by the time we head home. It’s a practical way to run things, and it keeps us busy. We like the neighborhood and the people here, and we plan on staying at this spot for a long time.
