About Kumar Paints Sanitary And Hardware – Coating & Finishing in West Delhi
If you walk down towards the Durga Mandir in Ashok Nagar, you’ll find us at 46/10. We have been here for a long time, selling everything from plumbing pipes to different shades of wall paint. The shop is packed tight, so you have to be careful not to knock over a stack of buckets when you walk in. I spend a lot of my day helping people find the right size washer or a specific nut and bolt they lost. It’s a lot of climbing up and down ladders. The smell of the temple incense sometimes drifts in when the wind is right, which is nice compared to the smell of PVC glue. We don't have any fancy computer systems for the inventory; I mostly just know where everything is by memory. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. Sometimes the regulars stop by just to chat for a minute while they wait for their paint to be mixed. We’ve got a big heavy shutter that we roll up every morning and pull down at night. It’s hard work on the back, but it's our life. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local hardware store trying to keep the shelves stocked with what the neighbors need. If a sink is leaking or a wall needs a touch-up, folks know where to come. It's a dusty job but someone has to do it.
