Kumar Hemopathic Clinic

Out here in Najafgarh, things feel a bit slower than in the middle of Delhi. Our clinic is at C-96 in the Nangali Vihar extension, right near the Ambedkar school. There are always children and teachers walking past, which makes the street feel lively. The area gets quite a bit of dust when it’s windy, so we are always wiping down the shelves where the medicine bottles are stored. Since this is a homeopathic clinic, it’s usually a bit quieter than a standard doctor’s office. People come in and spend a good amount of time talking about their health issues or how they’ve been feeling lately. The space is small and the lighting is a bit dim, but it’s a peaceful spot to sit. We have some simple wooden chairs and a stack of old newspapers on a table. Sometimes we lose power for a bit, and we just open up the windows to let the light in and keep going. Most of our patients are families who have lived in Nangali Vihar for many years. They know our location well and don’t need any directions. We don’t have a formal receptionist, so if I’m busy, people just wait their turn in the hall. It’s a very simple way to run things. The school bell usually tells us when it’s time to start packing up for the day. It’s just our small corner of the neighborhood, serving the people who live nearby.
