K. P. Leather Associates

We are located in Phase-II of the Mayapuri Industrial Area, at B-102/B. If you’ve ever been to Mayapuri, you know it’s a place where things are constantly being made or moved. The smell of leather is pretty strong as soon as you step inside our unit. We have hides stacked up on wooden pallets and large cutting tables taking up most of the floor space. It’s a bit of a gritty environment, but that’s the nature of leather work. We have scraps of material on the floor and a bit of dust from the finishing process. Our office area is just a small desk in the corner with a lamp and a ledger book. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything; we mostly rely on our notes and memory. It’s worked for us for a long time. The lighting is a bit dim in the back, so we use some portable lights when we need to check the quality of a specific piece. The workers here have been doing this for a long time and they know the material better than anyone. It’s not a place for a fancy suit. We all wear old clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of dye or glue on. The street outside is usually blocked with trucks, so getting in and out can be a bit of a mission. We just take it as it comes and get the job done.
