Jai Amba Fabric House LLP is tucked away on the third floor of building B 112 in Swarn Park, which is part of the Nangloi area. It’s a bit of a climb up to the third floor, especially when we’re carrying bundles of cloth, but it keeps us fit. We’ve been operating from this spot for some time now. Nangloi is a hardworking part of Delhi, and we fit right in with that. Our space is filled with different kinds of fabrics, and the air usually smells a bit like new cotton. We aren't a big corporation with a fancy board of directors. It’s just a family-run type of thing where everyone knows what they need to do. Some days are stressful when the supply isn't coming in right, but we usually figure it out over a cup of tea. We don't use any of those big words to describe what we do. We just buy fabric, store it here, and sell it to people who need it. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. Most of our neighbors are doing similar things, so there’s a sense of community in Swarn Park. We don’t have a flashy entrance or anything. You just come up the stairs and we’re right there, usually busy with some order or checking the latest stock that came in. It’s just about getting the job done properly every day.
