Ishar Furniture House

We’ve been here at 11, Furniture Block in Kirti Nagar for a long time now. If you’ve ever walked through the W.H.S. area, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and people moving wood around. Our shop, Ishar Furniture House, is right in the middle of it. It’s usually pretty loud with the saws going and the smell of varnish is always in the air. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the time, the floor is covered in sawdust and there are half-finished chairs or table legs leaning against the walls. We spend our mornings checking the wood piles and our afternoons trying to get the joints to fit just right. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific they saw in a magazine, and we have to tell them if it’s actually possible or not. It’s just me and a couple of others working the tools. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find us because they know someone who bought a bed here ten years ago. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, especially when we have three different orders going at once, but we get it done eventually. We usually have our tea out front when the sun starts going down and the traffic settles a bit. It is hard work, but we are used to it.
