We’re right across from the petrol pump on the main road, which is a great landmark because everyone knows where that is. Kirti Nagar is famous for furniture, so being right here in the thick of it makes sense for us. The main road is always packed with trucks and rickshaws, especially during the middle of the day. Our shop gets pretty dusty because of all the traffic, but we try to keep things tidy. We have been here at number 84 for a long time. People come in looking for things for their homes, and we just show them what we have without any big sales pitch. It’s a lot of walking around and moving heavy pieces of wood or metal. The area is noisy and hectic, but it’s got a lot of energy. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s quiet, just watching the cars go by the petrol pump. We aren't a big corporate showroom with air conditioning that freezes you out. It’s just a regular place where we work hard and talk to our neighbors. The furniture block has a certain smell of wood and finish that you get used to after a week. It’s our little corner of Kirti Nagar, and we aren't planning on going anywhere soon.
