Gupta Motors

Gupta Motors is situated at 160-8 Shyam Shanti Mr in the Ajmeri Gate area. If you know Delhi, you know Ajmeri Gate is the place for anything related to motors and machinery. Our shop is one of many in this crowded, narrow part of the city. We deal with various motor parts and have been doing so from this same spot for a long time. The building is old, and the stairs are narrow, but we have managed to fit a lot of inventory inside. Every morning starts with us opening the shutters and setting out some of the items. It is a very busy atmosphere with people shouting and horns honking outside. We mostly talk to mechanics and other traders who are looking for specific engine parts or motor components. We don't use much technology here; we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with handwritten slips and memory. It can get very hot in the afternoons, but the work keeps us going. We know the history of this market and have seen businesses come and go while we stayed put. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know how to do. Most of our day is spent negotiating prices or checking the quality of the parts that come in. We are just a regular part of the Ajmeri Gate landscape, doing our bit in the motor trade while the city moves around us.
