Gultron Batteries

Down in Paschim Vihar 3, we have our little setup for Gultron Batteries. It’s mostly just shelves of batteries of all sizes and a small area where we test things. The floor is usually a bit dusty because of the constant traffic, and we have a few workbenches that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time checking charges and making sure the connections are clean. It’s not the kind of work that leaves your hands clean, that's for sure. My cousin helps me out during the peak season when everyone’s inverter seems to fail at the same time. The shop stays open pretty late because people usually realize their battery is dead only when they get home from work. We don’t have any fancy signs or bright lights, just the name on the board outside. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket nearby and we have to watch out for the ball. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main markets, which is nice for us. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in. If a customer has a problem, they just walk in and we take a look at it right then and there. It’s straightforward work. We’ve got a small radio that plays the news while we sit and wait for the next delivery truck to arrive with new stock. It is a bit cramped inside with all the heavy lead and plastic around, but we manage just fine.
