Goyal Eye Institute

Over here in East Patel Nagar at 1/10, the Goyal Eye Institute keeps us all pretty occupied from morning until evening. It is a bit of a tight spot in this neighborhood but we make it work. Most days start with checking the machines to make sure everything is calibrated right for the eye exams. People from the nearby blocks walk over when they feel like their vision is getting blurry or if they have an itch that won't go away. We have some posters on the walls showing how the eye works, though they are getting a little faded now. The chairs in the lobby are okay, nothing special, but they serve the purpose. We don't really have a big fancy reception desk, just a counter where the files are kept in stacks. It gets a bit crowded on Saturdays especially. People bring their parents in for cataract checks and the kids come for their first pairs of glasses. You can hear the sounds of the street outside, cars honking and people shouting, but inside we try to keep it a bit quieter so people can focus on the eye charts. We go through a lot of paper and pens every week. The floor gets swept a few times a day because of all the foot traffic coming in from the dusty street. It is just a normal place where we help people see a bit better.
