Furnline (India)

Furnline (India) is right in the middle of the Kirti Nagar Main Market, just opposite the police station. If you know Delhi, you know Kirti Nagar is the place for furniture. It’s always crowded with people looking for deals and trucks unloading heavy timber. Our shop isn't as polished as some of the big showrooms on the main road. We have wood shavings on the floor and the air usually smells like varnish and sawdust. We spend most of our time in the back where the actual work happens. The front area is just for showing a few pieces and talking to people who wander in from the street. Being across from the police station means there is always something going on outside, sirens or people arguing about parking. We’ve been here long enough that the noise doesn't bother us anymore. We don't have a team of designers in suits. It’s mostly just us and a few carpenters who have been doing this for decades. We use our hands and old tools mostly. Sometimes a customer wants something we can't do, and we just tell them straight. We don't try to sugarcoat things. It’s a honest day's work in a very busy part of the city. We close up when the sun goes down and start all over again the next morning. There's always more wood to sand and more tables to finish for the next day.
