Our place is at 951 in Sector 8, and you can usually hear us before you see us. There are almost always a few dogs barking or cats wandering around waiting for their food. We didn’t really plan to have so many animals, but that is just how it goes when you start helping them. The house is pretty much dedicated to the animals now, so there isn't much space for us humans to sit down. We spend our mornings cleaning up and making sure everyone is fed and has fresh water. It’s a lot of hard work and your clothes usually end up covered in fur by the end of the hour. We don't have any big fancy equipment, just some crates, blankets, and whatever medicine we can afford that month. People in Sector 8 know us as the ones who are always picking up strays or checking on the neighborhood cats. We don't have a professional fundraiser; we just ask friends for help when the bills get too high. It’s messy and loud and sometimes quite sad, but we just keep going because we can’t stand to see them suffering. We don't have a board of directors or anything like that. It’s just a couple of us doing the best we can with the space we have. Every day is different and we never really know what kind of animal might show up at our door next. We just keep moving.
