If you go down Rama Road into the industrial area, you’ll find us at 53 B/7. It’s a busy spot with lots of grease and noise. We spend most of our days fixing machines and whatever else comes through the door. It’s usually hot inside, especially in the summer, but that’s just how it is in a workshop. We have tools scattered around the benches because there is always some project going on. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy with oil spills, but we clean it up when we can. My hands are almost always black from the engines, and the guys working with me are the same. We don’t talk much while we work, just focus on getting the parts to fit right. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny. It’s a place for work. People bring their vehicles or equipment when something stops working, and we try to figure out why. Sometimes it takes longer than expected because parts are hard to find. We just do our job and go home. There’s a tea stall nearby where we take breaks and chat for a bit. The Rama Road area is always packed with trucks, so getting here can be a bit of a squeeze during the day. We’ve been at this unit for years now and the neighbors are all doing similar work. It’s loud and dusty, but it’s our daily routine.
