Bright Shop

The shop is tucked away on Meenakshiamma Koil Street, and it’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside once you get all the stock on the shelves. We’ve got 26 as our door number, and we’ve been here for a while now. The street is always crowded with people shopping for various things, so there’s a constant hum of voices outside. Inside, it’s mostly us moving boxes around or trying to find a specific item for a customer who isn't quite sure what they need. We have a small counter near the front that’s covered in old receipts and a calculator that’s missing the '0' key. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the store, so we have to use a flashlight sometimes to read the labels. It’s a simple life, opening up at nine and closing when the street starts to quiet down in the evening. We don’t have fancy displays or those bright neon signs you see in the bigger malls. It’s just shelves, stock, and us trying to keep it all organized. Sometimes we have a little stool to sit on when the feet get tired, but usually, someone is always coming in to ask a price or look at the inventory. We know most of the people who walk past every day, and we usually exchange a nod or a quick word about the weather. It gets dusty, but we try to keep the shop floor clean.
