Ajay Rustagi

Ajay Rustagi has been working out of K-120 in Kirti Nagar for a long time now. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s mostly about furniture and wood shops. The street outside is always crowded with trucks loading and unloading big pieces of timber or finished sofas. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It’s a small space with a heavy wooden desk and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We don't have any bright neon signs or fancy marketing posters on the walls. Most of the time, the walls just have a few calendars and some old notes pinned up. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and letting some air in. The dust from the furniture workshops nearby always finds its way inside, so we spend the first few minutes cleaning things off. We don't have a big team of people here. It’s usually just a couple of us handling the paperwork and answering the phone when it rings. We don't use complicated software or have big meetings about goals. We just take the work as it comes in from the local people. Sometimes it’s busy and sometimes it’s slow, but we stay at the desk until the evening. The tea man from the corner brings us two cups every afternoon around four. It’s a simple routine that hasn’t changed much in years. We’re just here doing our bit at K-120.
